Paperblanks’ Firebird cover draws on that old piece of Russian folklore — the tale of a father who carved a glowing bird from the embers of a dying fire to comfort his sick son, only for it to come to life and cry, “Here is the sun!” Artist Nadezhda Sokolova reimagined the legend in her signature batik-on-silk style, and the result is a radiant red-and-gold firebird that carries all the warmth of the sun it represents.

This Mini hardcover slips into a bag or coat pocket — a compact companion for lists, notes and journaling on the go. Smyth-sewn binding lets it open flat, and a wraparound elastic keeps it closed.
