Handmade Casebound Book - Navy & Pink

Hand bound by book artist Patti Paulus. The cover is original paste paper in blue, drawn through with looping pink and magenta rings while the paint was still wet, so the pattern belongs to this book alone. The spine is navy book cloth, separated from the paste paper by a narrow pink stripe.

This one is cased in rather than exposed. The sections are sewn by hand onto linen tapes and finished the traditional way, with mull, Japanese paper, and headbands at head and tail, then covered so the structure is hidden. A navy ribbon marker is sewn in.

The format is landscape, wider than it is tall, which suits a page of notes or a wide sketch better than a portrait page does. Eighty lined pages on 70 lb acid free text weight.
