The Kakuno is the fountain pen we hand to anyone writing with one for the first time. Pilot designed it to make the leap easy: a small smiley face on the nib that shows you the right writing angle, a triangular grip that sets your fingers where they belong, and a hexagonal barrel — like a pencil — that won't roll off the desk.

Fine and medium nibs, a cheerful range of barrel colors, and a price that makes saying yes simple. Takes Pilot cartridges, or add a converter to fill from bottled ink. Made with recycled materials.
