Hand bound by book artist Patti Paulus. The cover is original paste paper in blue, silver and grey, brushed by hand while the paint was still wet, so the pattern belongs to this book alone. The spine and boards are finished in blue book cloth, with a narrow band of the paste paper left showing along the hinge.
The binding is the part worth turning over in your hands. Pale linen thread crosses the spine in a lattice of diamonds, worked on the outside of the cloth rather than hidden under it. It is decorative, and it is also what lets the book fall open flat and stay there.
The pages are blank and unruled, so it takes drawing as readily as writing.
